Jacob has exhausted all his options, all his tricks, all his manipulations. He has once again divided all he has in hopes of salvaging something if Esau is approaching with evil intent. He is alone but before he can take a seat, he is jumped. He will immerge from that fight with a scar and a new name but that is nothing to what will come next.
