For the last three centuries, the modern church movement has tried to domesticate a transcendent God. We tried to explain every mystery away, try to control every narrative, and try to anticipate certain outcomes. Doing so takes away our individual and corporate responsibility to engage with God faithfully. This is the first sermon in a six part series about spiritual disciplines.
