Naomi was left as a refugee, a widow, and a mother who grieved the death of both of her sons. Her only choice for survival was to send her daughter-in-laws back to their homes and return to her homeland. One daughter-in-law, Ruth, refused to leave her and chose, instead to become a refugee in Ruth's homeland. The integrity of Ruth and a distant cousin of Naomi's husband, Boaz, would provide Naomi a future.
